Priscilla Arises

This week most of us arrived at the Ward to find Priscilla siitting in a chair! This is great progress as it requires greater muscle control. She has even expressed that she is ready to walk out of the hospital (to run away from all of us, our pokes and flashes). But be assured this is a good thing. She has much desire to be well and lets do our part diligently and lovingly. Along with our continual prayers ...

Pray that the throat area will heal, so she can swallow and trach can be removed, that she will be encouraged every day, she will experience God's grace and mercy.

2 Cor 9:12-13 "This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God ..."

We are all on a journey of Faith!

Priscilla has improved so much....
She lifted up her left leg for Jeanie and I when we removed her socking. Wow! cannot believe our eyes. Must test her. When using the brush to stimulate her.. again she lifted up her left leg when told to do it. Just like a child obeying her mother. By the way, we think she prefer the brush to tooth picks. Jeanie's coffee was good. She managed to use the coffee to 'clean' her mouth. Priscilla was very good, she knows that we are cleaning her mouth. Obey all the instructions, open it wide for Jeanie to massage her gum and even clean the roof of mouth. Ladies, let's us continue to shower her with tender loving care. Jesus heals! Let us witness this miracle together. Praise God.

Today Priscilla sat on the chair for about 1.5 hours, until she was uncomfortable. Read a short story to her and part of John's gospel (Chp 1).

She's also able to grip a small rubber ball (about the size of a tennis ball) with her left hand, and attempted to do so with her right hand.

When she was seated, the family put another chair opposite her so that she could stretch her legs straight and rest them on the chair. I asked her if i could share the chair with her and she immediately put her legs down. I was touched by her gesture.

When i was about to leave, i asked Priscilla if she would like to say goodbye to me. She lifted her right arm and waved her hand at me.
